Operating entirely off local donations and community volunteer support since 2019, the Genki Ala Wai Project was founded under Dr. Ken Kaneshiro’s non-profit organization, Hawai’i Exemplary State Foundation, with a mission to clean up the Ala Wai Canal by 2026, making it safe for fishing and swimming once again.

Asked by co-founder Hiro Naga to help develop a series of Infographics to help visually communicate the key data points to help garner interest and support from the local community, the infographics feature custom vector illustrations and charts (i.e. turbidity, salinity, dissolved oxygen/sludge levels, etc), to illustrate the key measurement data, which is used to show the Project's current progress.
