Alaka'i Asset Management is a privately held real estate management company based in Honolulu, Hawaii, with its values rooted in stewardship, proficiency, resiliency and trust.

With these values in mind, we began exploring a number of different symbols and ideas, which eventually led us back to a rough concept (initially presented to us by the Client), which consisted of a series of 5 stylized, upward pointing check marks, which they interpreted as symbolizing rooftops.

Using this as our foundation/starting point, the final logo design builds upon the Client's initial logo mark, which slowly changes with each subsequent stroke, until it eventually ends up forming the symbol for Kapua'i ("footprint of the ancestors"),  conveying the idea of evolution, growth and enlightenment.
